About Me
Hi, I’m Kayla.... Birth junkie, photographer, lover of life.
Most importantly, I’m lucky enough to have two little girls call me mommy and a wonderful, supportive husband. I have been obsessed with all things pregnancy and birth related since I was 10 and got caught with a helmet strapped to my belly under a shirt while watching a Baby Story on television.
Skip forward several years, and a less than ideal birth experience with my first when I researched all of my options and learning that I did, indeed, have OPTIONS.
With our second, my husband and I knew that a doula was necessary in achieving the experience that we so badly wanted. After experiencing the beautiful water birth I had always dreamed about, I knew that this was what I wanted to do. I was inspired! I wanted to help families have an informed birth experience, just as I did. There is no right or wrong way to birth, as long as it’s informed!
With a six week old infant, I began the certification process through DONA International and completed in late 2012. I continue my education by taking various workshops and am a member of Northern Colorado Doula Association. I’ve been lucky enough to find something I’m passionate about. The old saying is true, find something you love and you won’t work a day of your life!
The photography aspect came soon after. I have always been fascinated by the beauty you see through a lens. Other than the skills that I learned in the dark room of my high school, I have been self taught. I specialize in maternity, birth, and newborns (surprise, surprise) but love capturing everything in between.
I am based out of Greeley, CO but will travel any direction in a 60 mile radius. Thank you for taking the time to visit and I hope to hear from you and your family soon. God bless!
